Admission into Plus Two colleges through SAMS mandatory: Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar, May 18, 2018:In a move to stop recurring incidents of student admission in fake and unaffiliated colleges, the State Government has directed all private, government colleges and higher secondary schools to strictly implement Students Academic Management System (SAMS), an e-admission facility introduced in 2010.

The move is basically to stop unaffiliated colleges from cheating students, officials informed according to reports published odishatv.in

School and Mass Education Department Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra said, “Many a time we have seen that unrecognised colleges cheat students by admitting them but are unable to provide registration facilities and so students are unable to appear for examinations. From now onwards, students will not fall prey to such manipulation as they can refer to the SAMS website and check whether the college is a registered one.”

Sources said SAMS website will have detailed list of colleges so that students can refer to the colleges they want to choose through the list and then apply.

Similarly, a list of the total number of students who have taken admission in affiliated colleges will also be provided for reference to the Council of Higher Secondary Education.
