Admissions at Food Craft Institutes: Apply by May 31

New Delhi, May 22, 2018: Food Craft Institutes, Kerala, under the Department of Tourism, sponsored jointly, by the Government of Kerala and Government of India, have invited applications for admission to the various one year courses with 9 months classes and 3 months’ Industrial Exposure Training in the Hotel Management sector according to m.dailyhunt.in

Applicant should have passed SSLC.

Selection will be based on the marks in the qualifying examination. In case of candidates who have passed the examination in the second chance, 5 marks and in the case of those who have taken 3 chances to pass the examination, 10 Marks will be deducted for determining the rank position. Those who have taken more than 3 chances for passing the examination are not eligible. In case of a tie in marks, the candidate who has taken fewer chances to pass the qualifying examination will be placed higher and if the tie continues, the applicant with higher marks in English will be placed higher in ranking.

Application and Prospectus can be had from the Principals of the Colleges on payment of Rs. 50/- in person. It can be obtained by post on payment of Rs.75/- by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Principal of the Food Craft Institute where admission is sought and payable at State Bank of India, for all Institutes. In case of SC/ST applicants, the cost of the form is Rs.25/- in person and Rs.35/- by post. An applicant can use the same form for three courses, as per the preference.

Application forms can also be downloaded from www.fcikerala.org and submitted with a Demand Draft for Rs.50/- (Rs.25/- for SC/ST), drawn in the name of the Principal of the Food Craft Institute where admission is sought and payable at State Bank of India, for all Institutes.

Filled Applications are to be submitted at the Institutes where admission is sought, latest by 4 pm on 31.5.2018 and must be accompanied by the following documents according to reports published in m.dailyhunt.in

  1. True copy of the relevant page of the SSLC book in proof of date of birth and mark in the qualifying examination
  2. Community Certificate for SC/ST/OBC applicants, issued by a Revenue officer not below the rank of a Village Officer/Tahsildar and copy of the Adhar card
  3. Creamy Layer Certificate in case of those claiming reservation under SEBC and whose income is below Rs.6,00,000/- and copy of Adhar Card
  4. A Self Addressed stamped Card

Admission to the course is based on merit. If the number of applications appearing for interview for a course is less than 50% of the intake for the course, the course may not be conducted.

The admission fee, tuition fee and the examinations fee for all courses will be Rs.100/-, Rs.6850/- and Rs.300/- respectively. The lab fee is Rs.6750/- for Front Office Operation, Food & Beverage Services and Hotel Accommodation Operation. It is Rs.12750/- for Food Production, Bakery & Confectionary and Canning and Food preservation. Caution deposit of Rs.250/- and Student activity fee of Rs.150/- will also have to be paid. The fee is payable in two instalments.
