U.S. Vice President JD Vance Visits Jaipur, IIHMR University Joins Strategic Dialogue on Indo-U.S. Partnership

Jaipur, April 24, 2025: IIHMR University, a leading health management research university in Jaipur,had the distinguished opportunity to be a part of a landmark event featuring a powerful address by the Vice President of the United States, Mr. JD Vance, during his official visit to India. The event, held at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur, brought together policymakers, academicians, and thought leaders to discuss the evolving Indo-U.S. strategic partnership.

Representing IIHMR University at the prestigious event was a delegation led by Dr. P. R. Sodani, President of the University. The delegation included seven faculty and staff members and twenty-three students, all of whom were specially invited to attend the address. Their participation not only reflects the university’s growing engagement in international policy discourse but also reinforces its commitment to advancing global cooperation in health systems, policy, and sustainable development.

Vice President Vance’s forward-looking speech emphasized the growing importance of Indo-U.S. relations in the 21st century, particularly in the realms of defence, energy, and trade. He underscored that close cooperation between the two democracies is critical to ensuring global stability and security amidst shifting geopolitical landscapes. He also highlighted the need for enhanced defence collaboration, including the acquisition of U.S. military technology, and expanded cooperation in energy, particularly nuclear and offshore gas. Moreover, he announced promising progress in bilateral trade negotiations, setting an ambitious target to double trade volumes to $500 billion by 2030.

Vice President Vance’s remarks, coupled with the presence of academic institutions such as IIHMR University, highlighted the crucial role of higher education and research in fostering diplomacy, innovation, and sustainable partnerships between nations.
