Mumbai, March 08, 2025: Demonstrating exceptional academic prowess, 25 students from Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) have secured spots in the Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) and International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) after qualifying the prestigious Indian National Olympiad (INO) 2025 in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Junior Science.
Among the qualifiers, 13 students have been selected for OCSC in Biology, 1 in Chemistry, 3 in Physics, 4 in Astronomy, 1 in Junior Science, and 3 for IMOTC. Additionally, an impressive 581 students from Aakash had qualified for various Indian National Olympiads (INOs) this year.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Mr. Deepak Mehrotra, MD & CEO of Aakash Educational Services Limited, remarked, “We are incredibly proud of our students for their remarkable achievement in the Indian National Olympiad. Their success is a result of their hard work, perseverance, and the support of their teachers and families. At Aakash, we strive to provide the best academic guidance and resources to help students reach their full potential. Congratulations to all the qualifiers, and we wish them continued success in the upcoming stages.”
The INO examination, conducted by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE), serves as the second level of the International Olympiad qualification in different Science subjects and as the third level of International Mathematical Olympiad. INO stage of Junior Science is conducted by IAPT. Participation in the INO is open to students who have qualified the National Standard Examination (NSEs) (1st stage of International Science Olympiad) and Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) (2nd stage of International Mathematical Olympiad).
On the basis of their performance in INO, around 35 top students in the merit list have been selected for OCSC and 69 students have been selected for IMOTC this year. For Science Olympiads, the student undergoes some theoretical and experimental sessions in the camp. The selected member Indian team undergoes a rigorous training programme at HBCSE in theory and experiments. Special laboratories have been developed at HBCSE for the purpose of experimental training. For Mathematical Olympiad, several tests are held during the training camp to provide orientation to students for IMO, followed by 8-10 days of rigorous training in Pre-Departure (PDC) for the selected team. Resource persons from HBCSE and different institutions across the country train the qualified students. The Olympiad programme culminates with the participation of the Indian students (4-6 in each subject) in the International Olympiads.
