Ghaziabad, September 15 , 2020: BI has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KU, Gujarat, for collaboration inresearch, training of staff and students, support studies on equine health, production and allied activities which would benefit the equine and their owners and other relevant stakeholders.
The MoU was signed by Dr. D. B. Patil, Director of Research & Dean PG Studies, KU and Brig JS Dharmadheeran (Retd) Country Director & Chief Executive Officer, BI.
Dr. N. H. Kelawala, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, KU gave consent for this MoU. Further, expressed that through this collaboration both organisations will deliberate on common areas of equine research. BI will also support KU in collection of laboratory samples and garnering relevant data.
Dr. D. B. Patil, Director of Research & Dean PG Studies, KU emphasized the importance of linkage between KU and BI and hoped that this collaboration will deliver mutually beneficially results for all the concerned stakeholders.
Highlighting the importance of partnership with the like-minded organisations, Brig JS Dharmadheeran, CEO, BI said it’s a great honour to collaborate with KU. In the coming days, both institutions will work together to conduct joint knowledge exchange events/webinars, develop mutually beneficially developmental project, and create skill enhancement opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff members.
Since its inception in 2001, BI has been focussing on the upliftment of marginalised equine owning communities in 11 States and Union Territories in India which include Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
