New Delhi, January 15, 2025: The adoption of technology has become increasingly significant, and the L&D industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Organizations are continuing to harness the potential of new-age technologies, offering impactful learning opportunities while optimising their performance. The use of AI, Data Analytics, AR/ VR technology and others is continuing to create incredible strategies for organizations to implement L&D programs.

In the present world of work, it is not surprising to see employees quickly getting disengaged in the face of change. edForce, one of the fastest-growing workforce upskilling platforms in India has recently conducted a survey to unveil emerging trends and innovations in the industry i.e. moving back from classroom training from VILT.

As per the edForce report, nearly 46% of larger organizations, particularly those headquartered in the USA and Europe adopt AI-driven and VR-based learning for effective skill retention. There is a 53% prioritise in the use of digital and AI tools in enhancing L&D opportunities. Attributed to supporting personalized training, it enhanced employee engagement, aligning it closely with real-time industry needs. On the other hand, budget limitations hinder the broader adoption of these technologies, especially in India and across small and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the edForce report, “An effective L&D program drives employee engagement and skill retention. Hence, we empower organizations and professionals to adopt innovative learning solutions, powered by cutting-edge technology. These programs are designed to accelerate workforce upskilling and bridging skill gaps in the industry.”

To address skill gaps effectively, over 66% of organizations are focusing on more personalised learning paths. By prioritising a culture of continuous learning, these organizations align training programs with employees’ specific roles and career development goals. This helps them design a more tailored approach to improve skill retention, ensuring a more capable and engaged workforce.

Presently, there is a growing demand for dynamic and on-demand learning solutions, highly driven by the use of innovative learning methods and AI tools. In tandem, the edForce survey report states that microlearning and gamification are gaining popularity for their ability to engage learners through brief, focused modules. Since over 61% organizations strongly focus on upskilling in emerging technologies, these methods fit well in hybrid work models, improve training completion rates and help in building a highly dynamic workforce.

As part of quickly progressing technology and work culture, organizations understand the need to develop stronger skills in their leadership teams. Around 52% organizations are actively investing in L&D programs to build future-ready leaders. This trend exhibits that organizations consider leaders as a critical lever for organizational success.

“To build a resilient and future-ready workforce, organizations must implement robust learning and development (L&D) strategies. These strategies should address the rapid pace of technological advancements and the growing demand for specialized skills,” Ravi Kaklasaria, CEO & Co-Founder of edForce added.

Technology plays an instrumental role in enabling personalized learning experiences, upskilling and real-time feedback.
