Vocational training is critical yet extremely crucial for students with disabilities is that they take more time to learn and generalize skills. We have all heard the old age that we are training our students for jobs that haven’t even been imagined yet….that thought makes my heart palpate.

If our students take longer to learn and generalize, how can they be prepared to compete in the local marketplace.  Here are a few examples of skills that students with disabilities can benefit from learning in vocational training, time management and organizational skills communication and teamwork skills problem-solving and critical-thinking skills ,Industry-specific skills and knowledge, depending on the field they are interested in pursuing. Self-advocacy and self-awareness.

Centre for assisted learning is such an institution where young adults with special needs would be provided a safe and effective environment to carve out their strengths in terms of skills they are good at. The vocational program is designed to make students “work ready” upon self-employment and respectful independent life. It provides practical education, so students develop specific industry skills that allow them to jump right into the journey of self-employment and experience the overall development.

Key features of the Centre for Assisted Learning include:

1.
