About Dr. Sanjay Molur: For over three decades, Dr. Molur has played a crucial role in the protection of lesser-known and threatened species, shaped international conservation guidelines, and led major global assessments for amphibians, reptiles, primates, and freshwater species and has been the support for countless researchers, conservationists, and policy makers around the world at national and international levels. He is the editor of Zoo’s Print, a monthly open-access international magazine founded in 1985 that focuses on science communication for conservation (www.zoosprint.zooreach.org) and the Founder Chief Editor of the Journal of Threatened Taxa (www.threatenedtaxa.org), an open-access, Scopus-indexed, monthly, peer-reviewed journal – founded in 1999 – that aims to build evidence for conservation globally. As a Ph.D. guide in conservation action affiliated with Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, Karnataka, he mentors students who wish to take up conservation as a career. He has been a core member of the team that developed the 2001 IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria and is the co-chair of the IUCN SSC South Asian Invertebrate Specialist Group since 2022.
