Gurgaon, july 03, 2024: Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, a leading business school in India, announces the appointment of Dr. Jones Mathew as its new Principal and Head of Institute, succeeding Dr. Debashis Sanyal. Dr. Sanyal will now assume an advisory role and continue to mentor the institute.
Dr. Jones will spearhead the next phase of growth at Great Lakes Gurgaon, driving the school’s efforts to establish itself as an internationally recognized center of excellence for contemporary management education and research. Before this, Dr Jones was the Program Director of Great Lakes Gurgaon’s flagship one-year program and Chairperson of Rankings and Accreditation at the institute. He has led the school’s efforts towards successfully obtaining accreditations from NBA and AMBA (UK).
Dr. Jones has had a long and distinguished career in various academic and industry leadership roles over the past 33 years largely in the marketing domain. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi and comes with rich industry experience at organizations like the Hero Group, HCL Ltd, Yonex and Reebok. A member of various educational forums and editorial boards of academic journals, Dr. Jones is an international award-winning case writer published in Ivey and listed in Harvard Publishing.

The outgoing Director, Dr. Debashis Sanyal served as the Director of Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, from 2018-24. He contributed significantly to the institute’s remarkable growth and development and notably in becoming the youngest business school in India to get the AMBA, UK, accreditation. Under his visionary leadership, the institute introduced innovative academic programs designed to meet the evolving demands of the global business landscape.
