Udaipur, October 28, 2022: The Indian Institute of Management Udaipur added another feather to its cap by winning the inter-B-School competition – The GovernanceChallenge IIM Udaipur students Muskan Gupta, Suhail Nazir, and Suryapratap Babar of the team Balicha Panthers, winning the position of Nationals Round Winners of the competition. IIM Udaipur conveyed gratitude to the competition’s organisers and wished the students success in their upcoming endeavours.

India’s first national governance case competition, The Governance Challenge featured more than 2100 teams from 25 top business and public policy schools. The teams were invited to present their solutions to help make Haryana’s youth future ready. The top 6 teams were invited to pitch their solutions to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana during the competition’s nail-biting finals. The top 6 teams were SVKM NMIMS, IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Shillong, IIM Udaipur, and IIFT. 

Congratulating the students, Prof Ashok Banerjee, Director, IIM Udaipur, said, “We are pleased and proud to see how our efforts reinforcing the entrepreneurial skills of our students are yielding such excellent outcomes. This remarkable accomplishment of the institute’s student team against competition from top Business Schools is an ana acknowledgement of how well they are prepared for innovative solutions to today’s complex problems.

The winning IIMU team, the Balicha Panthers, was honoured by the Chief Minister of Haryana with a trophy, a certificate, and a cheque for Rs. 5 lakh. IIM Bangalore team in second place, received a trophy, certificate, and a cheque for Rs. 3 lakh, while the third place was bagged by the IIM Kozhikode team which received an award, certificate, and a cheque for Rs. 1 lakh.

Remarkable to note is that the TGC is a platform to present its solution to complex issues through the Governance Challenge that affects millions of people. It provides an opportunity to present before prominent impact investors and government decision-makers. This autonomous ecosystem initiative aims to inspire India’s finest young talent to support the country’s governance structure.
