New Delhi, June 17, 2026: Lotus Petal Foundation has launched Teach Live, a live, interactive online remedial learning program designed to support children who need additional academic assistance beyond the classroom. Currently benefiting 30 students in its pilot phase across two states- Haryana and Delhi, and reaching children in Grades 3 to 8 (ages 7–14), the program is set to expand its reach across India. In a country where nearly every child is enrolled in school, millions continue to struggle with learning at grade level despite regular school attendance. Recognizing this critical challenge, the Foundation aims to bridge learning gaps by providing structured, teacher-led support to children who require additional academic guidance beyond the classroom
Teach Live addresses a reality faced by countless children across India. While some students return home to parents who can help them understand lessons and complete homework, many others do not have that support system. Their parents, despite their dedication and care, may never have had the opportunity to receive an education themselves.
The launch comes at a crucial time. Through live classes conducted by qualified teachers after school hours, Teach Live provides personalized remedial education to students who have fallen behind academically. The programme is specifically designed for children from underserved communities, ensuring they receive the support needed to build foundational learning skills and improve educational outcomes.
A recent report by NITI Aayog highlighted significant challenges within India’s education system, including over one million teacher vacancies, pupil-teacher ratios reaching as high as 47:1 in some regions, and more than one lakh schools being operated by a single teacher. While school enrolment rates remain high, learning outcomes continue to be a concern.
“Being present in a classroom does not automatically translate into learning. Many children need additional support, encouragement, and explanation to truly understand concepts. By leveraging technology and dedicated educators, the initiative aims to reach children across India and help them overcome barriers to learning. Lotus Petal Foundation invites individuals, institutions, and organizations to support the Teach Live initiative and join the mission of creating equitable learning opportunities for every child. Teach Live was created to ensure that every child has access to a teacher who can guide them, regardless of their circumstances,” said Kushal Raj Chakravorty, Founder and Managing Trustee, Lotus Petal Foundation, Teach Live seeks to complement existing educational efforts by bringing teachers directly to students through a live and interactive digital platform.
Unlike pre-recorded lessons or automated learning tools, Teach Live focuses on real-time engagement between teachers and students. The programme enables teachers to identify learning gaps, answer questions, and provide personalized guidance, ensuring that no child is left behind simply because they lack academic support at home. For partnership opportunities, community implementation, or support for the programme, interested stakeholders are encouraged to connect with Lotus Petal Foundation.
