Gujarat, November 15, 2023: Marwadi University, a leading private university in Gujarat, recently celebrated its 6th Convocation ceremony with an esteemed gathering of students, faculty, and chief guest Mr Arif Mohammad Khan, the distinguished Governor of Kerala. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the university’s journey, with 2051 students receiving their degrees and diplomas, including 366 international students from Syria, South Sudan, U.A.E, Zambia, among others.
The chief guest Mr Arif Mohammed Khan, Hon’able Governor of Kerala, congratulated the students and said, “Despite having achieved a remarkable milestone, you cannot rest as your own body of work is yet to come. And you should keep aiming at high standards of excellence in future as well. Further, the acquisition of knowledge without the growth of wisdom and empathy or compassion can degenerate us and such knowledge without compassion, human values is a threat to fellow human beings. It is a moral duty of every University, every teacher to help students discover themselves.”
Academic research at Marwadi University has shown remarkable progress, with 246 research papers published in the past academic year, with the university’s H-index increasing from 26 to 37, indicating an increase in quality and impact of its research. Additionally, the university provided a seed grant of almost INR 1 Cr to emerging researchers to support their research initiatives. MU is dedicated to preparing students for the future job market, as evidenced by the 444 companies that visited the campus during the Academic Year 2022-23, offering a total of 850 job positions, with the highest salary package offered being INR 22 Lakhs per annum.

Commitment to academic excellence was on full display as it introduced five new programmes across multiple disciplines for the Academic Year 2022-23. These programmess include B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Data Science, B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics, and M.Pharm. in Pharmaceutics and Regulatory Affairs. In response to the National Education Policy (NEP), the university also undertook the restructuring of existing programmes to align with evolving educational guidelines.
In a globalized world, internationalization has been a key focus for the university. The International Office at MU signed over 37 MoUs and facilitated student and faculty exchanges with institutions such as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Education of Mozambique, WSG University-Poland, HUE University-Vietnam, and COMP EXPERT Poland. The institution’s collaboration with 56 eminent national and international organizations, including Salesforce, University of Public Service-Hungary, LUISS-Italy, and ZURU Tech India Pvt Ltd., demonstrates its commitment to fostering global partnerships and enhancing educational opportunities.
