Medhavi Skills University Signs Strategic MoU with Autonomous Body Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), GoI

Landmark partnership to strengthen India’s construction workforce through industry-integrated education and national-scale skilling initiatives
New Delhi, December 03, 2025: Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has entered into a major strategic collaboration with the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), an Autonomous Body formed by the Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog) along with the Indian construction industry. This MoU marks a significant alignment between a premier national institution and one of India’s most forward-looking, skill-based universities.
The MoU was formally signed at The No Dig India Show 2025 & International Council of Consultants (ICC) Awards, India’s leading platform for trenchless technology and sustainable underground infrastructure. The agreement was signed by Shri Kuldip Sarma, Hon’ble Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor, MSU, and Dr. Priya Ranjan Swarup, Hon’ble Director General, CIDC. The event also featured addresses by Shri Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister, Energy Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and Shri P. Narahari, IAS, Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, among other dignitaries.
Under this MoU, MSU and CIDC will jointly design and implement both short-term and long-term qualification programmes in construction, infrastructure management, and allied trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and other occupations. The partnership will also pave the way for Work-Integrated Degree Programmes (B.Voc / M.Voc), enabling working professionals to pursue higher education without leaving their jobs.
A major highlight of the collaboration is the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Construction and Infrastructure at MSU, which will serve as a national hub for applied research, technology adoption, industry-aligned skilling, and workforce capacity building. The timing is crucial, as the Indian construction market is projected to reach ₹39.10 trillion by 2029, creating massive demand for technically skilled and academically trained professionals.
Speaking on the collaboration, Shri Kuldip Sarma said, “This partnership with CIDC strengthens our mission to deliver industry-ready education and empowers India’s construction workforce with formal, future-oriented skills.”
Dr. Priya Ranjan Swarup added, “CIDC is committed to elevating the professionalism of India’s construction sector. Through this collaboration with MSU, we aim to rapidly scale quality training and enable nationwide workforce transformation.”
CIDC serves as India’s national umbrella organization for the construction and infrastructure sector, leading major initiatives in training, certification, worker welfare, research, grading, and industry standardization. With the sector employing over 71 million people—projected to reach 100 million by 2030—this collaboration is set to play a pivotal role in formalizing and strengthening the workforce.
