NMIMS Hyderabad School of Law Inaugurates Moot Court Hall at its Campus in a Grand Ceremony

Hyderabad, November 16,  2023 :  A newly built Moot Court Hall was inaugurated at SVKM’s NMIMS Hyderabad School of Law (SOL) marking a pivotal addition to the prestigious institution’s academic and legal landscape. The hall is set to enhance aspiring law students’ academic experience by providing them with a thorough courtroom experience.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by esteemed guests Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy, Judge at the Telangana High Court, and Justice B. Papireddy, Principal District and Sessions Judge at Mahbubnagar, and the Mahbubnagar Police Department along with several other dignitaries from the legal fraternity. The NMIMS leadership was represented byDr. Siddhartha Ghosh, Director,NMIMS Hyderabad, and Dr. Mohammed Samiullah Arab, Associate Dean, NMIMS School of Law. Eager law aspirants from the School of Law Hyderabad also attended the grand event.

Addressing the monumental occasion, Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy engaged with keen SOL students sharing valuable insights from his illustrious legal career. In his engaging address to the attendees, the distinguished judge recounted his humble beginnings in the legal realm and shared noteworthy anecdotes from his treasured life experiences. The honourable guest emphasised the crucial role of lower courts in the justice system and stressed the importance of legal professionals dedicating themselves to the service of the nation and its people.

Moot Courts serve as a vital training ground for aspiring lawyers and students, enabling them to hone their advocacy skills and develop a deeper understanding of legal principles. It replicates the courtroom experience, allowing students to argue fictional legal cases before a panel of judges or seasoned attorneys. This simulation is typically used in law schools, legal competitions, and some advanced undergraduate programmes to prepare students for the real-world demands of litigation.

Moot Courts are also aimed at fostering critical skills such as legal research, persuasive argumentation, and public speaking among students. By tackling complex legal issues and learning to present their arguments cogently, participants gain confidence and legal expertise.
