Jaipur, July 17, 2020: Member of Parliament from Rajsamand, Diya Kumari witnessed the process of building ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ during a visit to the campus of Bhartiya Skill Development University. The visit occurred at a time when the academic process of university are limited to online and the physical training stands suspended, the MP discussed the situation with university faculty while she admired the skill development infrastructure and laboratories. She said that the current pandemic has only further added relevance to skill upgradation.
“any education system must address the real needs of the time like for surviving this the New Normal, skills are important for one to survive and develop. As per now, not only our country but whole world is facing real challenges due to the novel virus disruptions,”said, Diya Kumari during the visit.
Also scion of the erstwhile Jaipur royal family, Diya Kumari was delighted to learn that BSDU is proud of its skilled graduates and has even generated opportunities ofinternational internship for the outstanding students. She expressed her admiration for role of apprenticeship programs and emphasized on necessity for people of Rajasthan and across India to achieve the government’s vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat.
“I would love to see the people of Rajasthan getting skilled and work for the industry and get employed and work by self. Apprenticeship is one of the key programs for creating skilled manpower in India and achieve the motive of being Self Reliant.”
Prof. Achintya Choudhury, President, BSDU also explained upon the impact of current COVID crisis and changing trends of work demand. He insisted on importance of innovation to meet the post lockdown economic resurgence. “Since corona crisis has altered the nature of jobs there is a call for Atmanirbhar Bharat or self- reliance. There is a need to respond against crisis with global quality. To become self-reliant, we have to build up on the strengths of India, by staying relevant which is possible only by being skilled.”
