~The entire admission process, from application to interview and fee payment, will happen virtually~
New Delhi, May 12, 2021: Rishihood University (RU), India’s first impact-oriented university with a mission to provide access to equitable education for all, has announced the commencement of the second phase of its admissions process for the academic session 2021. In a shift away from convention, the university is allowing students to apply for their preferred course and appear for the interview virtually. Moreover, RU has excluded the need for UG aspirants to supply their Class 12 board results, and for college students to provide the result of their final year exams, as an application criterion.
The university has reviewed its admission process for the year 2021 in light of the pandemic-induced disruptions in the administrative processes at schools, colleges, and India’s education boards. The CBSE, ICSE, and state boards, for instance, have either deferred or cancelled the examination of class 12 observing the seriousness of the second wave currently raging across the country. Through its decision to tweak its admission process, Rishihood University aims to ensure that students don’t lose unnecessary time while contemplating the admissions process.
Courses at Rishihood are based on skills, merit and attitudes rather than pure theory, so even though board exam scores are an important metric for assessment, complete dependence on them is low. Rather than dropping out or restarting a course, students may also apply for lateral entry into the 2nd year of a degree program at Rishihood University (RU).
Programmes for lateral entry:
· BDes – Interior Architecture
· BDes – Communications Design
· BDes – Product Design
· BDes – Fashion and Textile Design
· BVA – Bachelor Visual Arts
· Bachelor of Business Administration
· BA (Honours) Education
· BA (Honours) Psychology
“Last year, students faced unprecedented confusion regarding the board exams due to the pandemic,” said, Dr. Kamlesh Mishra, Vice Chancellor, Rishihood University, “This year, too, the board exams have been delayed, leaving students once again facing too much uncertainty. If this situation prevails, we will have a group of students who have been unable to attend college for no fault of theirs. It is with this thought process in mind, we at Rishihood University, have reviewed and made changes to our admission process. We aim to empower students to take a timely and firm decision about their future,” he added.
