New Delhi, January 06, 2025: In a landmark development aimed at transforming the agricultural landscape, Salam Kisan, a leading agri-tech platform, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar. The partnership, announced during the prestigious World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit 2024 in Dubai, seeks to leverage advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems to empower farmers and facilitate sustainable practices. At the summit, the MoU was officially signed by Akshay Khobragade, COO of Salam Kisan, and Mukesh Kestwal, CIO of IIT Ropar iHub – AWaDH. Special gratitude goes to Dr. Pushpendra P. Singh for championing advancements in agritech and sustainability. The MoU outlines key objectives, including the development and implementation of joint technology programs to advance agri-tech innovation. Skilling and upskilling programs will be rolled out to equip farmers and entrepreneurs with digital literacy and sustainable agriculture practices. Additionally, the partnership will focus on mentoring early-age agri-tech startups, offering them the necessary resources and guidance to scale impactful solutions. Collaborative workshops and events are also planned to promote knowledge sharing and facilitate the exchange of ideas within the agri-tech ecosystem. These initiatives will be monitored through structured quarterly and annual reviews to ensure meaningful progress and measurable impact.
