The Sports Cell of MAKAUT in Association with Media Science Department Presented a Talk Show

Kolkata, February 28, 2023Dr. Laila Das, one of the best Sports Medicine Doctors in India was felicitated by Hoh’ble Vice Chancellor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB on the occasion of a Talk Show organized by the University at the Salt Lake Campus. She went with the Indian team to the Olympic Games, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. She was in charge of the Medical Centre of SAI Eastern Zone for many years. Dr. Das is an authority in sports medicine and sports injuries. 

Shri Dipendu Biswas, an Ex-Indian professional footballer who represented India for many years was felicitated by Prof. Maitra on the occasion of the Talk Show organized by MAKAUT on 22nd February at the Salt Lake Campus of the University. He won the Santosh Trophy as a skipper for Bengal a few times. He played for Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting. He is currently Technical Director of the I-League outfit of Mohammedan Sporting Club.  

The Moderator was Shri Jaidip Mukerjea (Arjuna Awardee). He is currently a Member of the Advisory Board Govt. of West Bengal, Life Vice president of the All-India Tennis Association and Sports Advisor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. 

Shri Mukherjea said that Prof. Maitra has taken the initiative to organize a Talk Show like this twice a month, which has been very popular. The advice of the experts has been recorded and will be much helpful for the sports-loving students. 

The main advice that Dr. Das gave to the young generation is injury is inevitable in every sports activity. But nobody should neglect such injury, even if it appears to be negligible at the initial stage. Actually, any such injury may turn out to be complicated later on if it is not properly treated. 

Shri Dipendu Biswas pointed out that in order to be successful, a player must love the sports. He/she must have a dream to be achieve success in life. Moreover, a sports-lover must be prepared to do hard work.
