The positive efforts from every corner of West Bengal to combat the crisis caused by Corona Virus Pandemic is evident since the imposition of Lockdown. The efforts are widespread, be it from the part of the Government, police, doctors, health workers, different communities/groups or common people. All such activities are reflected widely in the media. The battle against Corona would have been a lost one without the undaunted courage of the common people. All of them are warriors and their contributions can never be underestimated. Besides the doctors, nurses, health workers and police, the ordinary, even poor people are risking their lives to take care of others. The doctors and their medical teams are working 24×7 to treat the Corona positive patients and cure them and these ordinary people are standing by their side in their own way and with their limited resources. The pandemic has made people wake up and realise that the real satisfaction lies in helping others round the clock to fight the deadly disease. All ordinary people in the health care department, cleaning and housekeeping staff have displayed immense dedication by putting the nation above themselves and their families. The Universities, Colleges and even Schools are also taking an active part in the fight against Corona Virus. They are risking their own safety to reach the unreached with cooked food, supplying masks, hand sanitizers. These are mainly supplied to the needy or elderly people, pavement dwellers, ordinary workers, sweepers and so on. Many institutions are preparing PPEs, Face Shields Affordable Ventilators and so on. MAKAUT, WB is a pioneer in these initiatives. The University is manufacturing Hand Sanitizers, Masks, Running Community Kitchens in its Haringhata Campus and distributing cooked food among the poor people in and around the locality. This spirit will remain active in the years ahead and long after the withering away of the Corona Virus.
