MAKAUT Gives Guidelines to Students, Faculties & Guardians

Kolkata, July 21, 2020: Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB is committed to publish Final Semester results in time, so that the students face no problem in pursuing higher studies or joining in new jobs.   


The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of MAKAUT, WB Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra and the Controller of Examinations Dr. Subhashis Datta interacted directly with the students, parents and faculties in a Webinar on 14th July 2020. The Webinar “Face to Face with the Vice Chancellor” was organized by Bangla Worldwide. They assured all regarding publication of final semester results within July. A large number of students  and faculties of MAKAUT and its affilliated colleges participated in the discussion.

The points highlighted are:


Online Courses 

Classes will commence according to Government Notifications. In the meantime MAKAUT advises the students to enroll in Online Courses, so that they get the opportunity of Credit Transfer. From the next semester Course Mapping will be done from platforms like Coursera, NPTEL, Udemy etc for credit transfer.

CET, JEMAT from home

Students will be able to sit for the competitive exams like CET, JEMAT from home in online mode due to this pandemic situation. However, option will be given as to whether they want to sit for the exams from home or come to a centre.


Prof. Maitra emphasized on the importance of online teaching-learning in the present corona pandemic situation and outlined how new professions are also emerging amidst this worldwide crisis. 

Micro Entrepreneurship

He said that the concept of micro entrepreneurship is now emerging, where people can run their business from home, provided they have access to internet and knowledge about digital communication.

 The Vice Chancellor outlined a number of  areas, where new jobs and scope of entrepreneurship will emerge in the coming years. These include:

Data Science

Data Analytics

Data/Cyber Security

Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning

Blockchain/Cryptocurrency/Cryptography

Augmented/Virtual Reality

Multimedia and Animation 

Digital Marketing

E-Commerce, E-Payment


Accordingly MAKAUT has introduced a number of courses at the Under Graduate, Post Graduate levels in these areas. There are also Certificate courses and PG Diplomas . Besides, Online Courses are also available from different platforms.


MAKAUT gives opportunity to drop out students of foreign Universities. 
Many students have returned from foreign countries due to this corona pandemic and have been forced to discontinue their studies. MAKAUT has opened its doors to admit them in matching courses either in-house or in affilliated colleges. Students and their guardians are also afraid to send their children to foreign countries for higher studies due to this pandemic. MAKAUT with its variety of modern courses can be the right choice for them.
