MGLI inaugurates two courses on eve of Gandhi Jayanti

Ahmedabad, October 02, 2020: The Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute (MGLI) inaugurated two courses for the academic year 2020-21 on Thursday, the eve of Gandhi Jayanti.

The institute inaugurated the Diploma in Labour Laws and Practice (DLLP), and the Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) courses on October 1.

“It is not still advisable to resume teaching operations at the Institute in view of the Covid-19 situation, but at the same time, we do not want to waste a year of the students. Hence, we have decided to conduct the courses in online and blended mode,” said Vipul Mittra, Director General, MGLI.

The Diploma in Labour Laws and Practice has 40 seats, and it will be conducted in a blended mode, i.e. a mix of online and physical classes when possible. The one-year part-time apprises professionals from management, human resources, social work and law, of the current issues and practices in the field of labour.  It is designed to provide trained human resources to employers to deal with day to day problems in industrial relations. The course coordinator is Dr. Ayanendu Sanyal.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) batch for the year will be taught in an online mode. The one-year full time course also has 40 seats, and provides a broad introduction to contemporary Human Resource Management theory and practice and its relevance to other management activities. It aims to provide a theoretical framework for further study and managerial practice in the field. The course coordinator is Dr. Misha Vyas.
